Special message from Angel:

So I know this might end up being long. Today we lost somebody special. When you hear of a passing you go on social media and you read all these things about that  person like what a great person amazing caring loving funny and sometimes you sit back and you think it's just something that sounds like saying I'm sorry here's my condolences but in this case all those words are true every last one of them.

Chris or as his wrestling family will call him New Jersey Brawler was the type of person that you don't come across that often in life. I've had many of conversations with him and talking with him about his life story everything that he dealt with throughout his life, the pain and throughout all this no matter who you are, if you were family or a member of the boys (we got to be politically correct the wrestling community) or a friend or just somebody he's never seen before in his life, if he's seen somebody around him he had to make you laugh, he had to try to put a smile on your face.  He had to try to brighten your day and if he knew you were pissed off he was ready to go to war with you. If he knew you were down or depressed he would do anything it took some that are reading this will know he would do anything it took to try to crack a smile on your face. While doing all this he was dealing with his emotions, though all this he was dealing with his pain.

He spoke to me about what his family truly meant to him. He spoke to me about his kids, and how things were once but every time he was able to see you and to talk to you  that meant the world to him and he was very proud of you. His wife was everything to him, was his savior, was his reason to keep fighting this battle that he's been fighting for a few years and there's nobody that can tell me else wise. The way he talked about how he had to make sure she was going to be taking care of financially to make sure she knew his love.

For wrestling world his passion for that was unbelievable and magical. A fast wrestling story he called upon me through a summer barbecues with his wife my wife and my kids and he said I want to bring you into this company and I'm working with this guy and we're going to do a split angle to take over the company.  It was me him and the Sheik and I was all for it to be able to work a storyline with him has been something I wanted to do and checked off my bucket list. It was an honor to do it. So we go out there we do the storyline he's managing the Sheik I'm teaming with the promoter and I do the cross on the promoter joining him and Sheik and I'm known for my mouth in the business and I ran it. Well when we hit that curtain the promoter was behind two other workers and I remember going by them and one of the guy says  "Angel he was just out there doing his job your good you wanted a show right" and then he whispered and said  "come on man you don't know Jersey by now" . We got booked in the next show we're in the same angle they had people come in to try to have his back incase of things went South things were never planned to go south and me and Chris laughed and laughed and laughed about this. To share this moment with somebody that made not only the fans believe it but the actual promoter believe that what we were saying we were going to do by taking over this company and destroying him and the whole nine yards and he thought it was a legit thing just shows the level of magic he really brought to this business, and I'm glad I was able to share that moment with him.

The story I just told was told in a fast version because it's really hard to think what 8:35 brought to us this morning. To his family again please know that you guys met the world to him and he loves you guys so much. To his wife Jenna he absolutely adored you, was in love with you and he's always going to be with you guys.

I'll wrap this up in a way that might not make total sense to everyone but the past few years he's been in a storyline with cancer.  Cancer was never able to pin him down.  Today..... Cancer...... This morning Chris put you over.

Rest in peace my brother I thank you for the honor of knowing you, to be able to call you my brother, and for allowing my children to call you Uncle.

Message from Angel:

To find news out on anyone passing is always hard, but to hear about you sir man it hits hard.  A person that was always there with a smile on his face. Friendly, caring, and supported. A person that was welcome into a family without even taking a bump.  A man that made a show feel whole because he was their supporting and there for his son.  A man that traveled everywhere to be there for his son each time he laced up his boots.  A man that gave a symbol of how a father and a friend should be.  I know how it feels to lose a father and Pun i'm so sorry, and I know it was clear but man did that man love you.  He was always so proud of you.  The look in his eyes as you where out there was like no one was in the room but you.  Always talked about you when you where not around him.  Proud of you for becoming a father of your own.  To you sir I talk you for your time over the 20 plus years that I got to know you, and talk.  Thank you for your kind words all the time, and thank you for always shaking my hand.  You made a huge impression on everyone you ever met and on every show you were at.  I never and mean never seen anyone be so respected and welcomed like you were in every locker room.  Heaven again another angel today, and maybe Pun our fathers will met and talk about us as we will always talk about them.

Rest in Peace sir

We here at The Official Wrestling Museum is very sadden by the news of the passing of Erik Newton. If you didn't know this man you really missed out.  He was a promoter for a local indy company based in MA. He was kind, warm hearted person, that gave anyone a chance to live there dreams.  There not to many promoters like that in the wrestling world.  He help out the museum in many way including getting us time with Marty Jannetty and Koko B. Jewelz
(Oct. 10, 1983- Sept 16, 2015)

A message from Angel about Jewelz

As I sit here on Jan 21st, 2020 I wonder why.  This morning I was met with a message on my phone about Jewelz passing.  This passing wasn't over night not even the other day.  He passed away on Sept 16th, 2015.........

In life you lose touch with people.  You get older, and your life going in a difference way than others.  Its OK at the time.  You reach out and if your lucky you speak to each other for a few minutes, and other times you miss each other completely.  That's what happen here, and I never been happy about it.

Back in 1998 I started my wrestling career.   I was in high school and Jewelz was a classmate.  He was a fan of wrestling and we used to talk before and after classes.  We found out we lived only a street away.  When the Promoter of N.E.W.A. told me about wanting to make a team with me in it I said i know the right person to ask.  Jewelz loved wrestling, and had it.  When we started out we only knew what we seen on tv, and we started training, but we became something fast.  The Promoter seen how we were getting over with
the fans and even in the locker room.  The Team of Incredible 69 or I69 was born.  He was also one of the 2 people that helped with my name I been under for 99 percent of my career.

He had a love for music and started a band.  He was so proud to show me some of his sets.  At that time I wasn't into that kind of music.  As time went on and I got into bands Like Korn, System of the Down etc. (fun fact Jewelz first working name was Korn because that was his favorite band at that time) I sat back and said WOW he even great at this too.  Our last phone call we spoke about him going on an 9 month tour and being one of the openers for Shinedown.   He said once he got a cell phone on the road he would hit me up.  That's the last time we talked.  I tried a few times to reach out but he was never home.

I write this in his working name out of respect for the wrestling business that he was great in, but Justin my tag partner, my friend, my brother you were something special in this world that made so many memories for so many.  I know life had its hard moments and I wont go into that here nor anywhere, but I would never treated that time for anything.  I thank you for teaming with me, for being a true friend, damn for even being the last person i went trick or treating with as those teens that don't want to stop getting free candy.  I'm going to make sure your honor here within The Official Wrestling Museum, and I will never forget.  If it means anything today 2 of your closes friends back than are in shocked today, is sad today, and here thinking about you as we been for years.

Rest in peace

Message from Angel:
I heard what happened and i have been trying to think of what i should write so here goes.  Time flies by so fast and the little time you get to talk to a person is too short. I met Tom at a show one day, and we got to be friends in the locker room.  I remember him talking to me about how he wanted to be the next "chair man" in the business. He was a person that when u laced up your boots you could sit and talk to someone that was real and who cared about being a part of the show that night and hoped he could put on a good show for the fans that came out to see us that night.  You could tell wrestling was the place that got him away from things, you could tell being one of us meant something to him.  Talking to him, joking around, and going or "spot" ideas for random matches was something i looked forward to each time i knew he was on the card with me.  Im numb over what happened no words we could say could change things, no wishing for one more conversation lacing up boots would change things....... There's a saying the show must go on and i think we can go on with this in his honor.  Dont let a time go by that you could tell a loved one you love them, a friend that u miss them, have a conversation with someone no matter how important or stupid the topic may be for the hour or a half a mintue it may take of your time, because that may be your last. So dont be lazy just dont think i will next time because next time may not be there.

I promise The Official Wrestling Museum will honor and remember you, ill remember you,
the next chair shot is for you.

Just one more thing Chris Envy mentioned on his facebook page that Tom you are more over right now than ever and you must be smiling, Tom thats true but just remember you have always been over to all of us.
This 10 Bell Salute is for u tonight my friend.

Rest In Peace!
